Meet Our Dentists
Dr. Peter Sciarrino
Dr. Peter Sciarrino graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo Dental school in 2007 and completed a one-year General Practice Residency program. After working as a dental associate for several years in other dental offices, Dr. Sciarrino established Oak Family Dentistry on John's Island in 2011.
Dr. Sciarrino is passionate about helping people in dental need. Through his dental school, he participated in a charity mission to the Dominican Republic, performing dental procedures on people with very limited or no access to dental care. Dr. Sciarrino stresses patient education as a key factor in dental treatment and prevention of dental disease.
His other passions are cars and motorsports. He and his wife Tyler have a son and enjoy travel, sports and fitness as a family.
Dr. Leah Leonard
Dr. Leah Leonard received her doctorate degree at Virginia Commonwealth University Dental School in 2018 and continued her education with a one-year program at UAB Hospital GP Residency. Dr. Leonard and her husband then moved to Oregon where she practiced dentistry while enjoying the West Coast mountains. After 4 years, it was time to move closer to family in Charleston, which led to her joining our Oak Family Dentistry office in July, 2023.
Dr. Leonard's focus is on helping patients achieve optimal dental health through education, prevention, and conservative dental care. Her calm, compassionate personality helps patients feel at ease knowing they are well cared for in our office.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Leonard and her husband enjoy everything outdoors and are looking forward to starting their family here in the Lowcountry.
